I’m like to go back to Japan just to see this film.
A film which I’ve been looking forward to see will be released on 10th March. I would like to go back to my country just to see it. Today, I’m feeling like to talk about this film and a criminal case.
The film name is “Winny”. Almost all of people who are familiar with technology or older than my age can connect it with a big incident in Japan if they hear the name. “Winny” was peer-to-peer(P2P) file-sharing software, built by Isamu Kaneko in 2002. The software is a good representation of nowadays technology such as blockchain and bit coin because it definitely promised anonymity for its users and have high quality file system. In 2003, two of users were arrested for sharing copyrighted material using the software. Furthermore, in 2004, the developer, Kaneko also was arrested for building the platform which can share illegal contents with everyone on it. In short, Japanese police identified that murderer with knife must be arrested and person who made the knife must also go to a jail. It must be scared, I think. It took seven years to win an appeal and won an appeal and be overturned his conviction by Osaka High Court. Unfortunately, Kaneko passed away in the two years, 2013 at the age of 42.
For the seven years when Kaneko challenged the appeal, lots of contents and platforms such as Skype, Netflix, Sportify were released in the world without Japan. Furthermore, YouTube has been bought by Google in 2006. As a result, the term was a bubble building or establishing platforms adopted technology of P2P. If Kaneko didn’t need to go the jail and lives today, some companies in Japan would lead another companies in the world as platformer. It is not too much say, I think. I’m willing to love Japanese culture, food and structure if I leave Japan however I’m not like to love a mind and a value like that; “The stake that sticks out gets hammered down“.
I got a little hot by the history and the fact. Anyway, the film based on the history must be interesting for our country people so check it out!!!
これが観たいだけに一時帰国したいまである
ずっと楽しみにしていた映画が3月10日から公開されます。この映画を見るために帰国したいくらいです。今日はこの映画とある刑事事件についての話をします。
映画の名前は“Winny”。この名前を聞けば、テクノロジーに詳しい人または僕と同年代の人なら、ほぼ全員が日本で起きた大きな事件と結びつけることができるでしょう。Winnyとは、2002年に金子勇によって作られたピアツーピア（P2P）ファイル共有ソフト。このソフトは、ユーザーの匿名性を確実に約束し、高品質のファイルシステムを備えていたため、ブロックチェーンやビットコインといった現在の技術のもとになっているとも言われます。2003年、このソフトウェアを使用して著作物を共有したとして、2人のユーザーが逮捕された。さらに開発者の金子も、違法コンテンツを共有できるプラットフォームを構築したとして2004年に逮捕された。つまり、日本の警察は、ナイフを持った殺人犯を逮捕し、そのナイフを作った人も刑務所に入れなければならないと認定したのです。怖いですね。その後、7年がかりで控訴し、大阪高裁で有罪判決を覆すことができました。しかし残念ながら、金子はその2年後の2013年、42歳の若さでこの世を去ってしまいます。
金子さんが控訴に挑んだ7年間はSkype、Netflix、Sportifyなど、多くのコンテンツやプラットフォームが、世界に発信された時代でした。さらに、2006年にはYouTubeがGoogleに買収された。結果P2Pの技術を取り入れたプラットフォームの構築や確立がバブル期だったと言えます。もし、金子が刑務所に入ることなく、今を生きていたら、プラットフォーマーとして日本の企業が世界をリードしていたかもしれない。それは、言い過ぎではないと思います。日本を離れても、日本の文化や食べ物や構造は好きでいられるが、「出る杭は打たれる」というような心や価値観は好きではないです。
歴史と事実に少し熱くなりました。とにかく、この歴史に基づいた映画は、僕たちにとって興味深いものに違いないので、ぜひチェックしてみてください。
